Julie Smith

Loan Officer, NMLS 441762

Miracle worker, Angel, and Life Saver are just a few of the ways Julie Smith’s clients describe her. Born on the Northeast side of Grand Rapids, to two hard-working, blue collar parents, Julie was taught from a young age the importance of working hard and giving back; and that is exactly what Julie does on a day-to-day basis as a loan officer at Treadstone Funding. Her father was in the Navy Reserves, as well as a retired member of the GRPD, and her mother was a cardiac ultrasound tech. Julie works hard every day so that other people who work hard can enjoy all the benefits of homeownership.

Julie was introduced into the Real Estate industry over 17 years ago when she worked as a receptionist at Five Star Real Estate. She was instantly intrigued with the entire home buying process and within a couple of years, Julie had obtained her Real Estate Appraiser’s license! She was truly enjoying that side of the business but missing the client interaction part of the home buying process. So when she heard from a friend that a small local mortgage company, Treadstone Funding, was looking to hire back in 2010, she jumped at the opportunity to learn the financing side. She dove in head first consuming every bit of knowledge from the best of the best in the industry!

Julie is now one of the most respected and trusted professionals in the Lending Industry, having helped thousands of families realize their dream of homeownership. Her customer service is second to none, always operating from the Golden Rule. Her gift is her ability to figure out any situation she is handed and then structure financing that makes sense for the client. She does not quit until she figures it out, an attribute she got from her upbringing. No Loan Officer operates with more passion and determination than Julie.

Julie is the proud recipient of the “Above and Beyond Award” as a part of a team that did over 600 units and 100 million in production in 2017. When asked how that accomplishment felt, her response was, “It was fun to be a part of an exciting, hard-charging team, but the true reward comes from getting our clients into homes.”

When Julie is not at work, she spends time with her daughter, Natalie. Julie is a sun lover, a golf fanatic, and a crazy Detroit Lions fan. Her favorite weekends are when she is surrounded by family, food, and football.
